Went to the Folk Fair in Milwaukee today. Representatives from lots of the cultural organizations around the state come and set up booths where they display random stuff from their culture/country. When you go in you get a passport and whenever you go to a booth you get a stamp. I liked the Arab booth because it had a "Merokkan End Table" from The Sims 2. The Polish people made us answer trivia questions before they would let us get stamps. (Because it's really important to know that Liberace was Polish and also from West Allis.) Most of the countries there also had a food booth. We had Greek honey puffs, German cookies and other sweets, Nepali turkey dumplings, and fried bananas and fried squid from the Phillippines among other things. yum! About half of the people there were dressed in their national costume/traditional clothes/lederhosen. It's really funny to see a huge Wisconsin guy dressed in traditional Swiss garb talking on his cell phone while eating an egg roll. Of course there was knitting from a few countries (I got a Christmas tree ornament of Turkish socks!) and also some people making bobbin lace.
Now I'm watching Iron Chef. The secret ingredient? Cranberries! My sou chef Bobby is going into the kitchen now...

ps - it made you happy to see an end table from the sims2?! YOU NERD!!!!!
although, i do remember spending entire days at sam's desk freshman year playing the sims on her computer...
oh no no no! those are bobbins that are used to make bobbin lace...i found that picture on some website to illustrate how crazy making bobbin lace really is. basically you move the bobbins around in some sort of order...then you've made lace!
you do not know how much I love the merokkan end table. it's possibly the best item in the sims 2. :-)
ps - Bobby is a sous chef, not a SOU chef...although it would be nice if he could cook up some money...
