Did you bring the computer home with you or do they still have it? I wonder if a reformat would do anything for you? Unfortunately, of course, you'd lose your files if they're not backed up.
This completely sucks. Something needs to be done about the crappy service they give. I talked to a Compaq tech last night and in the time we were waiting for my computer to install drivers, she told me of horror stories of people who have had problems like yours. And about how bad extended warranties are, etc. I wish I'd never wasted $200 on an extended warranty - my money would have been better put to use extending my manufacturer's warranty after a year...
I have the computer now, it's not turning on at all. The manager from BB is supposed to call me back today to see what they can do for me. I'm fine with wiping the hard drive and starting over, most of my materials are backed up, but I can't even turn on my comp. at this point to do that. ARGH!
