yay! more rejection!
I lost my flash drive last week. I don't loose things. I traveled around Europe for 7 months and didn't loose anything, not even a mitten. But somehow, sitting around Madison I manage to loose my flash drive. ALL of my grad school files were on there, as well as all of my teaching materials (and...umm...other important teaching-related items...that go in an Excel sheet...). I hope nobody walked off with it. If they did, you would think that they would at least tell me and email me the files on it. You can keep the damn flash drive (it's about to break, anyway). Luckily, it wasn't a $2000 camera.
I got another rejection today, from Princeton. Not that my grades or GRE scores were good enough to get me into Princeton's PhD program, but I figured it's worth a shot, right? WRONG. Now I'm left with 5 schools - Harvard, NYU, Rutgers, UW-Seattle, and UC-Davis. Riight. Maybe Nicole and I will take off to Ireland next year to become fiddlers after all. Or maybe I'll move to Ukraine with Colette and teach English. Or maybe I'll mope around Madison for another year.
In other news, the monster scarf that is going to Ukraine is almost finished (garter st, 40 sts across, sz 10 needles, 2 skeins of Lion Brand Wool-Ease worked in a random stripey pattern). I love the scarf, it will be super warm (when did "super" start to be used as an adjective? When did *I* start to use "super" as an adjective? Should it be hyphenated? As in super-warm? I remember my roommate from freshman year said things like "super-warm"...maybe I got it from her.) but it's taking f o r e v e r to finish! I've been working on it since Colette got back from Ukraine last time. She leaves on Thursday.

Oh my god, I love this color blue (and I hate blue.) I have a shirt this color and have been seeking yarn the same color but haven't found it yet. Instead I bought some cheap medium blue fuzzy Red Heart yarn.
That lost camera thing is so distressing to me, and makes me hate Canadians. But I think it was just a $500 camera - not that it excuses it. I'm glad that the lady is doing something to try and get it back. Stupid evil Canadians!
ooohhh what are you going to buy? Red Heart is good - very very cheap. You should check out knitpicks.com - they have tons of good yarn for really really cheap.
Colette said it was a $2000 camera. However much it cost, it is still really shady for them not to give it back!
