thin envelopes, dancing into my mailbox
Yup, got another rejection letter to add to my collection. Harvard rejected me (surprise! I can't get into Rutgers, think I can get into Harvard?!), but in their lovely letter they informed me that they "fully considered my application". Which I'm taking to mean as 1. I made it past the first cut and someone actually read my application or 2. they send this to everyone so they don't feel bad. (I like to think it's 1., I have to stop thinking so negatively.)
I've been seriously reconsidering psychology over the past 2 days. I'm getting frustrated with my class now, namely because we're defining all of these abstract concepts that nobody can seem to define well. I keep getting asked random questions and just deflect them back to the class "So what do you guys think of that!" while trying to sound semi-excited about compliance...or gullibility...or "critical thinking skills"...as my students zone out and stare at the clock. Tomorrow we get to play with the PANAS (Positive and Negative Affect Scale for the non-psych-nerds) on SPSS. Fun!
They need TAs for the summer, I think I might do it. Sitting on the Terrace grading papers sounds like a hell of a lot more fun than sitting in a cubicle and staring out at the lake (if I'm lucky). Plus, there's about 5-6 weeks between when the class I'm teaching now ends and the summer session starts. Vacay!

Sorry to hear about Harvard, sweetie. Teaching over the summer wouldn't be too bad. Something will come along, I'm sure. Think positive thoughts.

You'll get something soon. All this right now seems like bad news, but acutally God has a plan for you. A bigger and better plan then what your thinking about right now. You'll see. It doesn't make sense now, but you'll see. Yes, you need to think positive. I think I said that in my other comment as well. Keep your head up.
Oh and that's three comments, to your none! LOVE YA!
Are you smiling, yet???
