the once a month blog?
I got one post in in January. So maybe this is turning into the Jen's monthly update blog. So - here's the update.
I'm a TA again, I have 4 sections of 225. I'm still freaked out by the fact that I'm teaching this class. I feel like my grammar and basic English skills decline the more I have to get up and speak in front of a group of people. I do the same presentation 4 times a week, each time the presentation gets better, but my English skills get worse. I've been organized so far...3 hours of teaching a day, M-R. The way that the classes are structured is helpful, I have my MW and TR classes, and it is only 3 hrs a day. The first round of (32!!) papers came in this week, let the grading begin!
In other news, there has been major gerbil drama in the past month. The population has fluctuated significantly. I hope there are no more gerbabies, I don't know what I'll do if there are more.
Went to Chicago this past weekend for Colette's and my birthdays. (see what I mean?!) We stayed at the Palmer House, a really posh hotel about 2 blocks away from the Art Institute. I felt very fancy. We had dinner at AGP with our feisty friend Inky and the new addition, Maike. The waiters sang us Happy Birthday as they brought out our cake and all of the little girls were jealous...some of the parents weren't so happy. I felt old - they didn't card me when I ordered wine with dinner. Am I really that old? I am entering my "mid-twenties"...agh!
The grad school applications are completed (finally!) now I need to email the professors and tell them how much I love their work. I'm sitting and WAITING to her back anything at all from the schools I applied to. I got a big fat NO from UCLA, which I'm guessing is due to the fact that it took my application *16 days* to get there and I was supposed to take the Psych GRE. oops. I didn't really want to go to UCLA anyway.
I've started knitting, I'm making a bag and a few scarves right now. I want to make socks, gloves, hats, and wrist warmers, but I feel like I need to finish up my current projects before embarking on socks. Maybe I should start a knitting blog?
I've been thinking of starting a new blog. I'm starting to think that maybe it's not such a great idea to have my name up in the URL. Then I'd have to be creative and think of a new name!
I should go see how the students are doing...I let them be to do their assignment...

Ya know I've been thinking about my name in the URL ever since I've done it. I think that's the stupidest thing I've ever done. What was I thinking? Ugh...Such a ding dong. I think we should BOTH change it. I'm so glad that you updated. Something told me to come back and check in. Glad you guys had a great time in Chicago. Sounds like your super busy, too. Is there ever enough time in the day to do anything? Ugh.
p.s oh, if you're old, I'm really old. lol.
