another looong shift at the copy center

just spent about 4 hours searching for jobs. i'm under-qualified for just about everything. too bad i don't speak burmese, then i could be a language teacher here in madison. BUT when i have my masters i can teach WS 102 - crazy, huh? (not that i'd actually want to teach WS 102, but still)

before i work these long shifts (7 hours sitting in a room by myself - oh, not by myself, how could i forget the copy machines?!) i get really ambitious, thinking i'm going to get so much homework done, then write letters to everyone i know, then read. it rarely works out that way, i usually end up playing around on the internet (damn literati!), or doing the crossword puzzle. oh well. maybe tomorrow i'll start working on that exam (!)

almost went to taco bell for dinner, then i remembered what a bad experience i had when i ate at mcdonald's last week. i went to qdoba instead. not much better, but the food is a bit fresher. at least it tastes that way.

time to start my novel for e. european lit, April Fool's Day by Josip Novakovich.
